France | 19th century | Gold, silver, diamonds | Guillot (maker)

This tiara comes from an old Marquis family located near Versailles, originally owned by Marquise Catherine, and is treasured by her family to this day. It seems to have escaped the ages and is as good as new. Only by carefully examining its period charm and exquisite craftsmanship can we capture the luxury and glory of that era. Versailles was the summer palace of France, where successive kings lived and where the royal families closest to the king accompanied him. This tiara highlights the power and wealth of the French Empire on the most important state occasions.

The tiara was entrusted to the royal jewelers of France, the Guillot family in Paris, who made many rare treasures for the royal family, some of which are still preserved in the Louvre today.
